Who I am: I am KJ. I am an avid movie fan and mental health nerd. I spend most of time in a cinema with my husband, exploring book stores and restaurants, or playing with our dog, Emmie.

My first submission to Photo Jam

I was so nervous about joining Photo Jam and spent so much time picking what I thought was my best and most recent photograph. This photograph was taken on New Years Eve of an old friend that I had just re-united with. I used this party as a way to spend time with friends and photograph all of them in a photobooth style. I think, for me, this photograph is full of celebration and awe, both of friendship and the new year. I also personally love all the sparkle!
A photo I feel best represents my visual voice
First of all, I love a natural frame or interesting use of framing in photographs to draw interest and I love a little mystery. I think this photo also really represents my heart for telling stories and exploring emotional vulnerability through photography.
Favorite Cue: SHADOW
On Photo Jam: I have gained a fresh perspective on my photography and a greater understanding about what makes me stylistically unique. It has helped me develop a pride and confidence in my work as I share and discuss it with others. I have learned so much from my fellow Jammers, and it has helped me grow my voice and try new techniques. Plus, Molly is a great teacher.
